If you’re burning fuel in a stove or open fireplace it is critical to keep the chimney or flue clean and unobstructed. All the smoke and gases (including poisonous carbon monoxide) generated from a fire needs to escape unimpeded up a chimney, otherwise it ends up back in the room. Chimneys and flues become clogged over time with soot and creosote, and can be blocked by cobwebs, birds’ nests and other debris. One of the dangers of a dirty, blocked chimney is chimney fires.
We are professional chimney sweeps who can keep your chimney working cleanly, safely and efficiently with a regular clear out. Regular means at least once a year for smokeless fuel stoves, and quarterly for wood burners (according to the NACS).
We also conduct surveys and tests of troublesome chimneys to detect and diagnose any problems, and fix any faults necessary to ensure efficient operation.
The Clearways’ stove installation team are registered as qualified and competent by HETAS (Heating Equipment Testing and Approvals Scheme) so you can be confident that we’ll safely fit a suitable new wood or multi-fuel stove in your property, with the correct chimney or flue and a carbon monoxide alarm.
You can choose from a wide range of makes and models of stoves, and being independent installers we can advise on the best size and specification of stove for the space you want to heat. You can have a stove in an existing fireplace or a free-standing stove.
If you’re moving into a property with a stove, or have a stove that has been dormant for a while, we’ll happily check over the installation, sweep the flue and issue a sweeping certificate and advise and inform of any defects that were found.
