Wood & Multi-Fuel Stoves

Eco-Friendly Stoves

Comforting and Cosy

The days of open fires with their excessive carbon emissions are over. Now we enjoy the same warm glow and flickering flames safely from much more eco-friendly wood burning stoves.

Our HETAS registered engineers at Clearways are qualified to fit the latest models of wood burners that comply with the Ecodesign European directive, tackling air pollution. A new modern stove could have 80% fewer particulate matter emissions than one that is 10 years old.

We’re proud to be expert installers of wood and multi-fuel stoves with more than 30 years’ experience of bringing these comforting, attractive appliances to properties across Bristol and the surrounding area.

Even if you live in a smoke-free zone we will be able to find a DEFRA (Department of Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs) approved stove which you can legally enjoy in your home, or you can have a stove which uses smokeless fuel (such as anthracite).

Choosing A Wood Burner

Suitable Specifications

There is a vast range of wood and multi-fuel burning stoves available to choose from, but your final selection depends on a number of factors which go beyond just the charming aesthetics of the appliance.

As independent stove installation experts we can help you refine your choice so you end up with a top quality fuel-efficient, safe stove with the capacity to heat your space, perform reliably and burn cleanly, that is also within your budget. Whether you want a traditional style stove or a sleek, shiny contemporary one, there is a stove right for you and your home.

You don’t have to have an existing chimney to fit a woodburner, and if you do, you’re not constrained to use it.

We can install a suitable flue system to exit your property from just about anywhere, whether you have your stove in a fireplace recess or freestanding in the room. The only requirements are that there should be no combustible materials near the stove, and that there is a minimum air gap at the sides, rear and top.

Wood Burner Maintenance

Maximum Life & Performance

To maximise the life and performance of your wood stove you need to put some time and effort into maintenance. Most of this you can do yourself. Clean the out the ashes when the fire is cool, and take them outside; clean the glass door (if it is not a self-cleaning model); and keep dust at bay with a soft brush or dry cloth on the exterior.

You can depend on Clearways to do the big job, like regularly sweeping the chimney (at least once a year). We’ll happily give your stove a service at the same time to ensure it stays in tip-top condition.

A good quality wood burning stove should last many years with good care, but bear in mind that a stove manufactured more than 10 years ago will not be as fuel efficient, eco-friendly or clean-burning as a new model. A replacement stove will be more economical to run giving you maximum heat from minimum fuel.

We give free no-obligation estimates, and are happy to share advice if you need a new stove or have a chimney or flue causing you problems.
